PSI helped sponsor this year’s Fuel & Convenience Summit, an event designed for leaders who distribute and sell gasoline, diesel, oil and lubes, natural gas, propane, and other fuels that power the Texas economy. Hosted by the Texas Food & Fuel Association, the Fuels Summit was formed as part of a strategic initiative to connect thought leaders, vendors, and others in Texas who have a stake in the fuel marketing and convenience retailing industries.
This year, Vice-President John Keller helped moderate a panel discussion on the new UST regulations as well as gave a five-minute talk on improving security at the store as part of a new session called ‘Industry Ignite’ (This talk will be available on the PSI Youtube Channel).
Additionally, Director of Service Wes Nance spoke as a part of a panel about the new TDA regulations and the role of service providers like PSI in the new regulatory environment.
Attendees at the summit had a packed two days full of education about the industry. Topics included how the oil industry affects consumers at the pump to keeping water out of underground tanks and more.
Texas State Senator Donna Campbell (R - New Braunfels) was a luncheon speaker and gave good insight into how Texas politics can influence and change our industry for good or bad. TFFA has a strong legislative presence and lobbies actively for c-store owners and operators, an especially appropriate topic considering the current election season and upcoming midterm elections on Nov. 6th.
